About Fibro Active

Fibro Active is a positive and inclusive support group for people with Fibromyalgia (FM) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and their carers.

The programme focuses on healthy lifestyle, light exercise, support and sharing information as well as educating members about their condition and help them to move forward with their acceptance and management of the illness.

The instructors are mainly FM and CFS sufferers who have researched and are qualified to deliver, Tai Chi, nutrition and lifestyle, gentle walks, emotional workshops and once a month we have a guest speaker who could be from local services such as Citizens Advice, Arthritis Research UK and Health Watch. We also signpost you to relevant services if required.

The aim of the programme is to keep you active and connected inline with the 5 ways to wellbeing.

The group is run by volunteer sufferers for sufferers as we believe that we are the best people to understand what we are all going through. We empower members into seeing that they can have a life with Fibro.

Mutual Agreement

When the group first started we asked the members what their thoughts were on the conduct of everyone attending the sessions and this is what they came up with:

The group aims to be welcoming, positive and inclusive
